Together with the two AM drivers Dan Wells and Philip Kadoorie Leipert Motorsport won the podium of the AM category twice last race weekend. A well-deserved reward after many duels under the Arabian sun.

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Saturday, 23.02.2019

The Yas Marina Circuit, well-known from Formula 1, with its 5.554 kilometres in length and summer temperatures, offered a holiday backdrop. With Dan Wells (Great Britain) and Philip Kadoorie (Hong Kong) the MOTUL supported German team Leipert Motorsport started in the AM category.

The first exclamation mark was set with the Pole position

Right at the beginning of the race weekend Dan Wells tagged his spot. His best time was not undercut by any of the other AM drivers and the first Pole position went to the 28-year-old British driver. From fifth overall, Dan Wells started the first race in which he bravely defended his position and handed over his first place in the AM classification to his team mate Kadoorie after the first half of the race distance. He had to fight hard in some duels and finally crossed the finish line in tenth place (P4 AM), narrowly missing the podium.

Continuous improvement: With third and second place on the podium

In the second race it was up to Kadoorie to pilot the Leipert Lamborghini Huracán at the start. Starting from 14th place overall, he stepped on the gas pedal - and catapulted up to eleventh place. He confidently mastered the first half of the race and did not let himself be upset. Wells took over the wheel. Further skilful overtaking manoeuvres put the Lamborghini #7 in third place of the AM classification and seventh overall place at the finish.

In the third race it went even further upwards. Kadoorie started into the race again and made up one place before handing over to his teammate Dan.  After a safety car phase, the Brit took his chance and moved up to 3rd place in the class. In the penultimate corner of the last lap before the finish line he overtook, much to the team's delight, the runner-up in front and crossed the finish line with AM's second podium finish and seventh overall place in his pocket.

Good teamwork is paying off

The weekend of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East in Abu Dhabi - a huge success for Leipert Motorsport! Both podium finishes and the Pole position underlined once again that team consistency and the constant ambition to improve are key to success.
