Another class victory for Luci Trefz / Marcus Paverud in the PRO-AM category and the overall victory of Max Koebolt / Jan Kisiel in the second race once again makes Leipert Motorsport one of the fastest teams in the field at the second race weekend of the GT4 European Series.

Wegberg, Germany - Monday, 06.05.2019

One race weekend follows the next: The first races of the ADAC GT4 Germany are just over, the next GT4 event for Leipert Motorsport was already on the calendar: The second round of the GT4 European Series within the Blancpain GT Series on the Brands Hatch Circuit in the United Kingdom. The experienced team from Wegberg in North Rhine-Westphalia did an excellent job again this time and can be happy about a class victory and an overall victory!

Race 1: Paverud and Trefz take another class win - 4th place for Kisiel / Koebolt

In a field of 34 racing cars in the GT4 European Series, qualifying plays a major role. The driver quartet of Leipert Motorsport worked hard on Saturday evening to secure a good starting position for both races. The performance should be honoured: Starting position three for the Dutchman Max Koebolt (21) on the AMG GT4 #4 and a remarkable sixth fastest lap time from the youngest of the team, Luci Trefz (Germany, 17) on the AMG GT4 #2 in the first qualifying.

Sunday at noon the start into the first race: Both Mercedes AMG GT4 struggled at first a little bit. Koebolt was thrown back to fifth place - Trefz ranked ninth, but soon after he reached seventh place. Short interruption by a "Full Course Yellow" phase due to a crashed car, after which Koebolt fights for position three in a four-fight. After another safety car phase, the pit stop window was opened and the drivers came in to change. Marcus Paverud, who took over the wheel from Luci Trefz, returns to the race in ninth place. Jan Kisiel with the #4 is ranked seventh and takes fourth overall until the end of the race. Paverud crossed the finish line in seventh place with the #2 and, together with Trefz, wins the PRO/AM category class for the second time this season. Big cheers from the team.

Race 2: Kisiel sets the basis - Koebolt perfectly completes overall victory

The second race on the British Brands Hatch Circuit took place only five hours after the first race. Focused on Jan Kisiel on the AMG #4 in the front row: The 24-year-old kept his nerve at the start from second place, pushed his way through and became the leader! Until the driver change he managed to get a respectable lead of eleven seconds. Koebolt did the same and built another four seconds on the runner-up. Shortly before the end of the race the Showdown: The Safety Car moved the field together again closely. But Koebolt, too, wanted to know: he confidently led the field and crossed the finish line as overall winner, under the cheers of the team.
Less luck had the two teammates Paverud / Trefz on the #2. Paverud, who started the race from sixth place, received a drive-through penalty after exceeding the track limits several times. After the driver change Trefz was able to limit the loss: Eleventh place overall and second in the PRO / AM classification - again a podium.

A successful race weekend comes to an end for Leipert Motorsport supported by MOTUL. At the end of May, however, the team is already looking forward to travelling to Paul Ricard as championship leader (31.05.-02.06.2019).
