A weekend full of challenges awaited the two drivers Jimmy de Breucker and Yannick Hoogaars of the WCB Racing Team by Leipert Motorsport. After a very rainy 2h race the Lamborghini duo crossed the finish line in fourth place in class 3.

Wegberg, Germany - Monday, 07. October 2019

As part of the NASCAR Whelen Europe Series, the penultimate round of the Belcar Endurance Championship was held at the Belgian Circuit Zolder. The autumn weather lived up to its name and gave the drivers rainy sessions, which became a big challenge. Thanks to the professional racing commitment of Leipert Motorsport, it was possible to prepare the Lamborghini with start number 999 for the 4.011-kilometre race track perfectly.

Race starts behind the safety car

In qualifying the two drivers Jimmy de Breucker and Yannick Hoogaars impressed with fast lap times. In their group of cars - class 3 - they reached the second starting position, which meant ninth overall on the grid.

The god of rain opened his floodgates for the start of the race on Sunday. Due to the huge water masses the decision was made for a safe start behind the safety car. Jimmy de Breucker was able to set himself apart right after the SC start phase with the Lamborghini Super Trofeo from Leipert Motorsport and moved up to 7th place overall. One lap later, however, he lost grip on the masses of water, turned and slipped into the gravel. Jimmy, pulled out by track marshals, managed to drive the Lamborghini under his own power into the pits.

Fourth place thanks to fast teamwork

The Leipert Motorsport team was ready at the pits. The mechanics quickly repaired the Lamborghini, making it ready to race again and sending it back into the race. On the last place Jimmy got back on the track - five laps backlog. However, from 32nd place he fought his way back to the front. Shortly afterwards his teammate Yannick Hoogaars took over the wheel and started his race to catch up after half of the race distance. After a race time of two hours and five minutes, when the race was waved off, the two of them were in 17th place overall. In class three the two drivers of the #999 reached 4th place.
